Special Guest this Wednesday

Just wanted to let you all know that this Wednesday, we will have a special guest during our youth gathering. Jeff Cantrell, who works with Teen Challenge, will be joining us to talk about his battle with drug addiction and how God helped him overcome that addiction. He’ll be telling us a bit about his life story and how his relationship with God helped him to get off drugs and on to a better way of life.

Jeff also works at a pizza place here in town, Ballyhoo Pizza King, and his boss there drives a dragster (if you don’t know, it’s a type of car that people race, and they go incredibly fast). So if you’re interested in racing, I’ve got a great opportunity for you- he has volunteered to bring his car to the church so we can get a look at it. No, I don’t think he’ll be racing it, and no, I don’t think you will get to drive it. But we will get a chance to take a look at it up close, and talk to him about what it’s like to race it.

I thought I’d let you know so that you can make plans to join us if you have not already. Also, if you have any friends who are interested in racing, this would be a good chance to invite them to join us!

PS: If you are planning on working during the Mission Week (July 20-24), this is the last week to sign up. We need to know how many people are coming so that we can work out all the logistics. Don’t forget to fill out the info form and medical release!
